(1) Snipping Tool










Snipping Tool is a great tool to use to capture screen shots of windows. It captures rectangular areas or free-form areas. The captured screen shots can then be annotated, saved, or e-mailed.

(2) Windows Sidebar














Windows Sidebar is a panel that can be placed on either the left or right side of the screen. Users can place desktop gadgets within their sidebar. There are 11 gadgets to choose from, for example: calendar, contacts, clock, and weather.

(3) Windows Photo Gallery













Windows Photo Gallery is a photo and video library management application. Within this application you can import from digital cameras, tag, and rate individual pictures. This application also allows you to edit basic images, such as adjusting color, cropping, red eye, and be able to create and burn it onto a DVD.

Flip-a-Chip is an online educational tool that can help students become familiar with high-frequency affixes and roots. It promotes comprehension of numerous words in which they occur in meaningful chunks.

This online educational tool can be used as a drill and practive tool under Content Exploration. Flip-a-Chip reinforces concepts by having supplemental practive and immediate feedback.

While students play Flip-a-Chip, they effectively increase their vocabulary with instruction that requires active and positive student participation. Students also examine affixes and roots to help build their vocabulary.

Around the World with 80 Schools

"Around the World with 80 Schools" added by Langwitches is a video that explores Skype as a whole. It begins by showing the viewers how to download the program and other tools that enhance the Skyping experience. It then teaches the viewers how to use Skype; for example how to make a call or add someone to your contacts. Once you understand how to obtain and use Skype, it explains the many benefits of Skype.

It's a great tool to use in education. It opens up your classroom walls and creates global and culture awareness. It benefits the students with communication skills, presentation skills, public speaking, exposure to native language speakers, and authentic data. These are just a few examples of how benificial Skype is in the classroom.

It also brings up challenges with using Skype. For example, different time zones, dropped calls, or a bad connection. It gives alternatives if technology were to fail while using Skype. Luckily if there were problems with the visual or audio, Skype also provides an online chat.

Near the end of the video it show examples of students using Skype in the classroom from all around the world. It provides you with a better understanding of how beneficial Skype is to the students education experience.

The website includes games, songs, activities, communication cards, print resources and information for special needs. It also includes the three E's: Efficiency, Effectiveness, and Enhancements.

Efficient in that the website provides educational materials with just an easy click of a button. It enables more learning because the activities, games, and songs were already preselected to positively have an affect on the students educational experience.  

Effective in that the website provides visualizations that enables better comprehension. It also improves student transfer by providing games, activities, and songs that are memorable and relatable.  

Enhanced in that the website creates an exceptional learning experience for students. It increases students motivation and engagement by creating games, activities, songs, and communication cards that are interesting and entertaining. 

Tools For Educators



Tools For Educators is an online resource that can help educators make custom worksheets, games, and other resources for free. This website covers all three E's: Efficiency, Effectiveness, and Enhancements. 

Efficiency in that the website makes it easier in making educational materials. It only takes a few minutes to make a personalized worksheet or game.

Effective in that the website improves students comprehension by having the students gain knowledge in a fun and creative way. 

Enhanced in that the website improves students motivation and engagement because the games are exciting and entertaining for students. These games also create an exceptional learning experience.
